Product Description
Detailed Specifications & Features
Rotary Drum Precision Filter for Municipal Sewage Treatment
The Rotary Drum Precision Filter is highly efficient filtration equipment that uses gravity or pressure difference to allow suspended liquids to pass through a porous medium, intercepting solid particles and achieving effective solid-liquid separation.
How It Works
During operation, sewage flows into the hollow rotating drum and, driven by gravity, flows from the inside of the screen to the outside, reliably trapping suspended solids on the inner surface of the stainless steel screen. As the drum rotates slowly, the backwash pump extracts the filtered clean effluent to backwash the screen. Wash water is sprayed from the nozzles at the top of the drum, flushing from the outside in; the dislodged particulate matter is gathered by the backwash water collection trough and safely discharged from the equipment via the blowdown pipe.

Note: The backwash water consumption for the full series varies from 20 to 100 m³/d, and the backwash pressure is stabilized at 7.5 bar across all models.
Key Advantages
  • Ultra-Low Water Consumption & Efficient Backwashing: Wash water accounts for only 0.3% of total treated volume—significantly lower than the 3-5% typical of comparable filters, reducing post-backwash wastewater treatment burden.
  • Continuous Filtration & Low Head Loss: Filtration and backwashing operate simultaneously without interference. Head loss is remarkably small (less than 30cm) and guarantees effluent SS below 10mg/L when influent SS is under 20mg/L.
  • High Impact Load Resistance & Easy Maintenance: Operates normally with influent SS up to 40mg/L. Filter mesh lasts up to 2 years with independent panel design for simple, cost-effective replacement.
  • Minimal Footprint & Cost-Effective Upgrades: Significantly smaller footprint than comparable filtration equipment with low foundation bearing requirements, ideal for upgrading existing wastewater treatment plants.
Applications
This device is widely utilized in advanced municipal sewage treatment, first-class upgrading, municipal sewage pretreatment, water resource recovery, and industrial wastewater pretreatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the backwash operation interrupt the normal inflow and outflow of the filter?
Not at all. The design allows both filtration and backwashing to operate continuously and simultaneously without affecting each other, ensuring the continuity and stability of the water treatment process.
If a small section of the filter screen gets damaged, do I have to replace the mesh on the entire drum?
No, you do not. The screen uses "independent mesh panels" allowing you to dismantle and replace only the damaged panel without disturbing other screens, making maintenance simple and cost-effective.
We are upgrading an old water plant with very limited space and weak foundation bearing capacity. Can we install this equipment?
It is perfectly suited for your needs. The equipment has a substantially smaller footprint than traditional filtration equipment and very low foundation bearing capacity requirements, specifically designed for upgrading existing sewage treatment plants while saving substantial civil infrastructure investments.
