Working Principle

The fully submerged fiber cloth disc filter consists of a central drum, filter discs, backwashing system, and associated electrical control system. Filter discs are installed around the central drum and communicate with its interior through openings.

Raw water passes through the specially designed fiber cloth filter medium (filtration rating as fine as 10 μm) and flows into the central drum for discharge. As suspended solids accumulate on the filter cloth surface, differential pressure increases and flow rate decreases.

When solids reach specified levels and water level rises to preset values, the automated backwashing system activates. Solids are removed by suction backwashing and discharged from the system. The filter discs rotate during cleaning until the entire surface is cleaned, then return to stationary filtration mode.

Filter Cloth Structure and Performance

The filter cloth features a polyester fiber base fabric with polyamide surface fibers. Fiber density and length are selected based on filtration medium characteristics to suit different water-quality conditions.

Surface pile height ranges between 10-15 mm, providing high filtration flux of 15-20 m³/(m²·h). Uniform fiber distribution creates a dense, floc-like filtration layer with rating of approximately 5-8 μm and effective depth-filtration layer of approximately 2 mm.
